Covergirl Katy Pery Collection – Hot or Not?

Hi Loves!

Hope you had an awesome long weekend! Mine was amazing. I went to YellowStone National Park. It was out of the world. Let me know if you want a post on that? Coming back to today’s review and swatch. I am in love with them and here is my review

Covergirl collaborated with Katy Perry to create 11shades in the Katy Katy Matte Lipstick Collection which launched in June 2016 with colors ranging from petal pink to pitch black. Each lipstick comes in special, limited edition white packaging with Katy Perry ❤ Covergirl printed on the side. If you look at the bottom of the lipsticks there’s also a little cat ear print that embraces the shade name! Being a cat lover myself I really adore them 🙂 This colorful collaboration with CoverGirl also features two mascaras – Black & Blue

I got mine from Target and is available at any drugstore & online. They’re quite a bit cheaper at $6.94 each. The display at my local Target was half empty (I guess they didn’t get the full stock in yet or it was sold out) so I only grabbed two of the shades. So keep on reading for my review and swatches!

I just love the packaging. It is so adorable. These lipsticks come in a white, rubberized tube with the shade name and color on the bottom. I got colors Cat Call and Kitty Purry. I love how each shade has a cat-themed name. Its actually Purrrr-fect

The product claim to be a “demi-matte formula with a soft finish that feels creamy and moist on the lips”. Its more like a satin finish very similar to Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick by Color Sensational.  I just love their demi-matte formula which is very velvety, has creamy texture that glides across lips like butter. Its great for dry lips and I have been wearing this very single day. Its amazing to see how they have incorporated shea, aloe, and avocado butter into their formula for that smooth and easy glide.

It didn’t settle into lines or cling to dry patches. The staying power was good at 5-6 hours. I was wearing it during my trip to Yellow Stone National Park. It really stayed on my lips for many hours. It didn’t really transfer much, so that’s definitely a plus! It was humid out there but it didn’t dried out my lips. It didn’t settle into lines or cling to dry patches. Really in love with them.

Here are the 11 Shades that are available. Thanks to my friend who sent this picture to me 🙂 13625004_652716631547129_1769374019_n

Covergirl Katy Kat Eye Mascara

Katy Kat Eye Mascara ($6.99-$8.99) — Katy and COVERGIRL’s new longwear mascara comes in the brand’s first-ever, daring blue in Perry Blue, as well as Very Black, Very Black Waterproof, and Black. The Katy Kat Eye takes flirty lashes to the next level with 10x the volume, with lashes swept up and out.I got in the color black.

Product Claims

Sculpting Brush that sweeps lashes up and out, for full, lush voluminous lashes. Create a 360° cat eye that won’t smear, won’t smudge, but will definitely make other cats jealous! Also available in waterproof.

I will give this product a thumb down because of two reasons.  I’m more interested in volume than length.  I had to really pull the wand through my lashes to get the clumps out. The design of this brush makes it awkward to pull the product up through my lashes but I managed. It does not look like the picture at all! The picture makes it look like a brush fully coated in bristles, however the actual brush is a weird spiral.

The only good thing was that it didn’t smudge once throughout the day. It doesn’t have a wow factor that I will recommend to you guys. So not that happy. Its very ok-ish product

Sorry for the bad quality of the picture but here is how it looks.

My fellow lipstick lovers out there, let me know what all colors you have used and will recommend? Which is your favorite?

Thanks for reading !
